Jarun Zagreb, often referred as Zagreb’s sea was built for the 1987 University Games and is located north of the river Sava.
It consists of two lakes – Veliko and Malo Jezero – eng. Big and Little Lake -, and six islands – Univerzijada, Trešnjevka, Hrvatske Mladeži, Divljine, Veslača, and Ljubavi. During the warmer months of the year, people of Zagreb flock to Jarun in order to swim, row, sail, wakeboard on the lakes, or to enjoy some of the activities that can be undertaken around the lake, such as running, riding bikes, rollerblading etc.

The another thing Jarun Zagreb is famous for is its nightlife. Jarun is the home of many night clubs that offer a vast array of music genres (electro, hip-hop, rock, etc.) that are bound to satisfy anyone who finds himself there, no matter the music taste or age. The most famous club at Jarun is the Aquarius nightclub that has been around for the last 20 years and it enjoys a somewhat legendary status among city’s youth. Other notable clubs that can be found there are Circus, Gallery, Best and Roko. But the biggest draw to Jarun, when it comes to music is the InMusic festival that is one of the biggest and best open air music festivals in this part of Europe.
In addition to nightclubs and recreation, Jarun Zagreb also has a diverse offering of restaurants and cafes. There you can enjoy a lunch or dinner, or enjoy a relaxing time with your friends while sipping coffee.
